PackMate uses a 3D bin-packing algorithm with gravity simulation. It tries all your available box sizes and finds the smallest one where all items fit — respecting weight limits, fragile markings, and orientation constraints.
Only once. PackMate stores dimensions as Shopify metafields on each product. Once set, they're used automatically for every future order containing that product. Per-product, you can choose Shopify's built-in dimensions or PackMate's custom dimensions.
Yes — PackMate includes an interactive 3D visualization. You can rotate the view, zoom in, and step through the packing process item by item. Great for training warehouse staff.
Sometimes shipping a big order in 1 large box is more expensive than splitting it into 2 smaller boxes (carrier dimensional pricing). PackMate automatically compares both scenarios using your tariffs and recommends the cheaper option, with savings shown in euros. Available on every plan, including Free.

Yes — PackMate ships an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server on every plan, including Free. Connect it to Claude.ai, Claude Code, or any MCP-compatible assistant and you can manage orders, calculate packs, query analytics and update product dimensions through chat. Your AI subscription pays for inference; PackMate provides the tools.
Yes — every plan from Free upwards. Connect your existing DHL business account in Settings, and PackMate generates labels using the box and weight from your latest pack plan. No copy-pasting dimensions into a separate tool. DHL credentials are encrypted at rest.
Yes — particularly relevant for DACH stores. PackMate aggregates packaging weight by material category (paper, cardboard, plastic, etc.) over any reporting period, so the LUCID submission becomes a copy-paste from the report. CSV export ships from the Free plan onwards.
Calculations re-run for the same Shopify order are always free. New-order calculations beyond the cap are blocked until the next billing month or until you upgrade. Bulk-Reconciliation lets you catch up cap-hit orders after upgrading. We never charge overage automatically — you stay in control.
All data is stored on EU servers. Uninstalling deletes all your data after a 30-day grace period (Shopify-mandated). Product dimensions stored as Shopify metafields stay in your store. You can request a data export or immediate deletion at help@packmate.shop. DPA available on request for B2B customers.
Yes — the Free plan covers 20 orders per month with every feature unlocked: Multi-Split, 3D-Animation, Analytics, LUCID CSV, AI-Integration, DHL labels, REST API. Basic ($9/mo) lifts the cap to 250 orders, Pro ($29/mo) to 1,000 orders, Business ($59/mo) to 2,500 orders. Every plan ships every feature — only volume and history retention differ.
