PackMate is a Shopify app that finds the smallest cardboard box for any order. The setup is straightforward — about 5 minutes from install to your first pack plan.
1. Install from the Shopify App Store
- Open the PackMate listing on the Shopify App Store and click Install.
- Authorize PackMate to read your products and orders. We never see customer payment info or contact details unless you actively use the DHL label feature.
- After install you land on the Onboarding wizard.
2. Create your first box
- Open Packaging → Add box.
- Enter the inner and outer dimensions (length × width × height in mm) and the empty weight (tare).
- Optionally set a max content weight — useful for double-walled cardboard with strict load limits.
Pro tip: model the boxes you actually have in your warehouse, not theoretical ones. PackMate picks among real available SKUs.
3. Add product dimensions
- Open Product sizes → choose a product.
- Pick a dimension source: Shopify metafields (works across other apps) or PackMate-only custom dimensions.
- Enter length, width, height in mm and weight in g. Mark as fragile if it cannot lie on its side.
4. Run your first pack plan
- Open Pack station → pick an order.
- Click Calculate. PackMate runs the 3D bin-packing algorithm against all your boxes and shows the recommended one.
- Use the 3D viewer to verify the packing — rotate, zoom, step through each item.
